Rebecca Villegas- Urban Education Specialist for Southeastern Pennsylvania
Rebecca Villegas has been in the education field for over ten years.She is passionate about motivating students to reach their full potential and committed to providing opportunities for the students to be leaders in their community.She has taught in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, English as a Second Language, Adult learning and Professional Development.Rebecca has a degree in Early Childhood Education, Organizational Management, and is completing her Master’s in Educational Leadership.
Rebecca has been with Penn Sate Cooperative Extension for two years, and during that time, she has been able to reach well over 2500 urban students with programs. Her programs focus on Creative Arts, Community service and outreach, Practical Science and Civic Responsibility. Additionally, she leads the Teen V.I.P. program that allows teens to intern for her county extension, giving them applicable and fun opportunities working in the professional world.She currently does extensive work on Cultural Competency programs for youth and adults, and develops curriculum for urban and traditional audiences in the Southeast region of Pennsylvania.
